Godot Light-Sensitive Line-Of-Sight
A downloadable tool for Windows and Linux
A line-of-sight system for Godot.NET, inspired by that of Thief and Thief 2. This system takes lighting into account as well as obstacles, allowing players to skulk in the shadows.
Requires the .NET version of Godot 4.4.1 or later.
Want to try it out? Download either the Linux or Windows demo and play around with it! You'll be able to configure the AI's sight parameters to influence how quickly they see you, or if they can see you at all. I'm also working on a game which uses this.
*Caveat*: I have since lost the files for the demo, so that is no longer up-to-date.
Adding this into a game is as simple as duplicating some template scenes and adding collision shapes. Here's me adding it into the demo:
